As the curtain closes on the final Park City–based edition of the Sundance Film Festival, our community pauses with heartfelt gratitude. For more than four decades, Sundance helped shape Park City into far more than a historic mountain town—it became a global stage for independent film, creative expression, and cultural exchange. Each January, filmmakers, artists, journalists, and visitors from around the world arrive with stories to tell, bringing an energy that leaves a lasting imprint on the soul of our town.
The festival’s influence extended well beyond theaters and red carpets. Sundance introduced millions to the magic of Park City—its walkable Main Street, breathtaking alpine setting, and genuine sense of place. Over time, that exposure translated into something enduring. Visitors returned. Many chose to invest, put down roots, and call this community home. From historic Old Town properties to slope-side residences, Sundance played a meaningful role in elevating Park City as a premier destination for a vibrant mountain lifestyle.
As Sundance prepares to begin its next chapter beyond Park City, its legacy here is undeniable. The festival has left decades of economic vitality, global recognition, and a creative spirit that continues to influence our community and real estate landscape. I am deeply thankful for the stories shared, the relationships built, and the lasting imprint Sundance has left on Park City and Deer Valley.
While the festival may move on, the stage it helped create remains—set against snow-covered peaks, vibrant neighborhoods, and a lifestyle that continues to inspire. Park City’s story goes on, shaped in part by Sundance and ready for its next act.
If Sundance has ever been on your bucket list, this is your last chance. The Sundance Film Festival returns January 22–February 1 for its final chapter in Park City and Salt Lake City before relocating in 2027. After more than forty years, this moment feels less like a festival—and more like a farewell celebration.
